An easy-to-read executive summary of the inaugural Pathways to Leadership
study, co-sponsored by IWLC and the Vernon Research Group
, is now available in PDF form on the IWLC website.
The eight-page summary document lists the top 10 recommendations resulting from the study, which sought to identify activities, policies, and other measures that can help women more successfully achieve leadership positions. In addition, the summary describes seven key takeaways, covering topics such as the special attributes women bring to leadership, the impact of female versus mail mentors, the barriers women face in striving for leadership, and women's willingness to serve.
The Pathways study was conducted among nearly 800 women across the state of Iowa in 2013. Initial results were announced in late 2013 and the executive summary document released in time for IWLC's April 23, 2014 "Success : Assured" leadership conference in Coralville.
