Iowa Women Lead Change (IWLC) today announced its 2016 events and conferences to support female entrepreneurship and women-owned businesses. For the third straight year, IWLC will convene Invest in She by IWLC events in Central Iowa and Eastern Iowa, offering female entrepreneurs and business owners the opportunity to pitch their business ventures to a group of power investors.

Since its creation, IWLC and investors have awarded more than $110,000 to 18 female entrepreneurs across the state. Winners at each of the Invest in She by IWLC events are then eligible to compete in the national Small Business Association InnovateHER competitions, thus increasing their potential investor reach.

New this year in Eastern Iowa, the organization will host a half-day conference, featuring multiple tracks for attendees depending on their current business level. The tracks include: business ideation, new business strategy, scaling business and “Mentor Mixer.” All Invest in She conference attendees will receive key one-on-one time with an Iowa entrepreneur mentor. Elizabeth Caven, founder of UpCraft Club and former Invest in She by IWLC competition winner, will offer the luncheon keynote address. Ms. Caven’s homegrown idea is now a national force in the competitive world of e-commerce. Her story is one aspiring and existing entrepreneurs will appreciate, from her journey of using Iowa-based resources to having grown her dream worldwide.

Tickets for each Invest in She pitch competition are $35. Tickets for the Eastern Iowa half-day conference and competition are $55.
