As an organization dedicated to the advancement, promotion and development of women, our mission is as relevant and necessary today as at any time in our 11-year existence.
We remain laser focused on growing women leaders. It can be tempting to allow the politics of the day to distract us. But know this, the IWLC team is disciplined. Our mission remains the advancement, development and promotion of women, their organizations and to impacting the regional economy.
Iowa Women (and Men) Lead Change: Better Together is our guidepost in 2018, recognizing that developing women to their full potential is a team effort. It involves quality women and men. IWLC exists today, due in part to the advocacy and peer support from many male allies. That team approach has never been more important and, due to the events of the day, more intimidating to some than ever before.
IWLC recognizes we need everyone in on this conversation. We don’t need help, we need reinforcement. It’s time to make sure men know they are not just part of the problem. They are a key component to the solution.
We've got multiple opportunities for top-notch talent development to close out 2018 including the Dubuque Conference on Oct. 16 and Central Iowa Conference on Nov. 6-7. Hashtag movements make headlines, but it’s our job to move the conversation forward. It's time to raise your hand and step up for your own personal development.
